Eights seem to follow me everywhere I go. It could be my fascination with the perfect balance of a figure eight. Or maybe it’s that I was born on the 18th day of the 8th month in 1980. Whatever it is, I’m glad they find me as I’ve learned they are a sign of good luck. This aerosol and acrylic painting is a loose tribute to that lucky number eight. It was never my intention to draw the number. It’s just what flowed that rainy day in the studio. I remember the wind picked up after the rain. I looked out to see droplets being pushed up, rather than down the window. This sparked the idea to do the drips going up in the painting.

These prints were produced with archival inks on 260gsm, acid-free cotton rag stock. Prints are signed, titled and numbered in graphite pencil by Ricky Watts. Each is accompanied with a certificate of authenticity (COA).

Orders are carefully shipped in a thick cardboard envelope via Priority Mail with insurance and tracking.
